Abstract
The authors developed an 8-session solution-focused group therapy program for obese college women that incorporated attention to diet and exercise. The effects of the program were studied qualitatively by exploring changes in attitude among the 4 women who participated. The analysis was organized into 3 main categories?diet, exercise and psychology?and 19 subcategories. The researchers found that the 3 main categories constituted changing structures that progressed in 3inter-related chronological steps: Developing Goals, Finding Solutions, and Maintaining Goals.
